AWmusic Spotlight: Blood, Sweat & Beers

OZ ROCK LEGENDS COMING TO ALBURYBlood, Sweat and Beers – The Concert have rocked stages and audiences alike on the first half of their national tour. In July, the juggernaut continues throughout New South Wales, Canberra, ACT and Mulwala in Victoria. This show is an assault on the senses and one of the best rock n roll outfits currently on the circuit. Blood Sweat & Beers – The Concert has built their arsenal of fans around the country and will continue to deliver with brand partner Stones Original. Stone’s Green Ginger Wine is Angry’s drink of choice on stage, as introduced by Bon Scott.

This electric four-part show blisters over 2.5 hours and covers the smash hits from these iconic bands. Opening the show is Jim Hilbun on vocals/bass, with ‘Marseille’, powering through a set of The Angels best-known classics then, Angry hits the stage for an explosive Rose Tattoo set. After a short break Grant Walmsley on vocals/guitar blasts out all the hits of the Screaming Jets including ‘Better’ written by him and released in 1991. The show closes with Angry returning to the stage for a pulverising set of AC/DC favourites from the Bon Scott era with Mark Evans on bass.

Albury rock band Midnight Alibi will be lending their hand as support act:

This concert is the real deal with current and former members of AC/DC (Mark Evans), The Angels (Jim Hilbun), Rose Tattoo (Angry Anderson/Dai Pritchard), Screaming Jets (Grant Walmsley) and Greg Aldridge on drums. They are the mavericks of rock n roll and, the concert covers the four corners of Australian rock at it’s best. They’ve performed across the globe, had dozens of hits in the ARIA charts, and been inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.

The Concert, is inspired by the book written by Murray Engleheart and covers the amazing Alberts’ years when Rose Tattoo somehow cranked everything up even higher and became the loudest, most threatening band to ever stalk the earth. Then, of course, there were The Angels, Australia’s number-one live drawcard, who turned venues across the country into jam-packed paramilitary rallies. AC/DC need no introduction, their global juggernaut success is legendary. The Screaming Jets were one of the last bands to record for Alberts, who then courted The Jets to sign with them, during this unprecedented time in the Australian music scene.

“What an honour. Firstly writing Blood Sweat and Beers, the everything louder than everything else history of Oz rock. Then having that title adopted by a legendary bunch of blokes for a national tour that will see them blast out some of the greatest rock n roll ever made. Scripts don’t come no better than that.” – Murray Engleheart
